Has anyone notice how people get so offended these days? It is now politically incorrect 'Happy Christmas', or 'Happy Hanukah’, or even ‘Happy Kwanzaa’. People feel that your decimating people who don’t celebrate your holiday.

In school you can’t sing any songs that have Jesus in them, or any other religious reference. The whole thing is ridicules and wrong. What happened to the time when you could have a Christmas concert instead of a ‘Winter Concert’?

My little brother had to sing songs in school about SNOW FLAKES and CANDLES. What kind of crappy holiday is this?

Our culture is already decapitating. They’re just speeding up the process.

Yeah it certainly is a bunch of arse.
It's really bad here in the UK, everything to do with England is apparently offensive to the foreign people who live here. When it was the World Cup football shite, according to these clueless do-gooders, having an England flag to show support to your country was offensive. It doesn't matter that it's an English country or anything, or that it is a Christian country. I doubt if we were to live in a country of a different culture and religion that they'd show us the same courtesy. The thing that pisses me off the most is that it's not even the people themselves who are supposedly offended, it's a bunch of PC twats who are protesting on their behalf, whether they want it or not.

Thats the thing, nobody is ever really offended by it but if people know they can get away with complaining they will. (and probably claim compensation)
if political correctness wasnt so stupidly over the top nowadays then nobody would dare complain about seeing the union flag or hearing "christmas" spoken in public.

There are a lot of Portugese in the town i live in and most of them had portugal flags on cars or their houses during the European cup and us English had ours up too, yet in some mixed estates people were asked to take the flag down. Why? because it might cause trouble, What the police should do is arrest anyone causing trouble, not stopping people showing that they are proud of their nationality.

Yeah i agree with Andy, if the idiots that rule us belive anything could cause trouble they just ban it, rather than take the poeple who are causing the troube to court, or put them under charge...

do you guys think it helps the assimmilation of immigrants in this country if the immigrants wave their country's flags and wear their nationalities on their sleeves? now, i'm all for immigration for the right reasons and i'm not opposed to multiculturalism - but if people come here, shouldn't they be encouraged to try and integrate with the residents? if you're from portugal but living in england, shouldn't you start trying to be more english rather than trying to be portugese?

however i suppose i don't have a problem with this dumbing down of christmas. it ceased being a chrisitan holiday years ago, and it's now a general holiday. a LOT of kids these days aren't christians, why should they be expected to sing about christ and all that tosh? this is where my secularity overrules national pride

i know what you mean but i dont give a crap. ill always call christmas christmas.

at my girlfriends uni they're calling this season "Yulefest". if your not christian run away and cry and hide in a cave for the next few days. if you dont really give a damn what people celebrate, then just have a good xmas.

its like you cant say brainstorms anymore, you have to call them 'spider diagrams'. on a design course its a little hard to rename something after calling it one thing for the last few years. thankfully my lecturers agree with me so brainstorms it is!
same goes for blackboard and such. idiots.

Christmas isn't even a Christian holiday anymore, so there's no real reason anyone should be offended now. Religion in caucasian civilisations seems to be decreasing, but rather than drop religion altogether they keep the best parts, such as Christmas, Easter etc, while dropping the hardship stuff like Lent.
I actually don't like Christmas, in fact I don't care for it at all. I tell everyone not to buy me gifts, but some still do. I don't think it's right, I'm not Christian, I'm guess I'm agnostic, I don't believe in Jesus so I see no reason why I should celebrate Christmas, but I do respect other people's rights to, whether I agree with it or not. Bah humbug.

Reminds me of a song where the South Park teacher goes to India, Japan and middle east and wishes them a merry christmas... in a rather rude way.

Lent? Is that when you don't eat for 40 days?

I know the song you mean. "Merry f...in Christmas"
Lent's the time where you have to give something up, like a habbit or something. Dumb holiday. I think the time when you don't eat for 40 days is Ramadan, a Muslim holiday. They got the short straw when they were handing out religious holidays.

I hate when people dumb down christmas just to appease everyone.

The thing that annoys me the most is when people change lyrics to music to fit everyone's beliefs. Just leave the damned song how it was originally.

Hey, I don't live there, it's bloody gay. I live in Sheffield, home of knives & forks and Scottish actors pretending to be Northern strippers, not to mention Boromir from Fellowship of the Ring.
