I hate mousepads. Even when I'm not using an optical mouse, I throw the pads away. Decent ball mice work better without them.

I use my upper thigh as a mouse pad. It tends to get a few hairs caught it in from time to time, but besides that it's good.

I like the Cotton mouse pad. I hate the plastic one, they make my rist hurt. Besides, also, I dont like going without a mouse pad for 2 reasions, my desk is screwed up, extremly fithy & crusty (its over 10 years old & wooden), & 2, again, it hurts my rist.

I will say though, that getting an optical mouse was a great choice! The ball mice did nothing but screw up, I went through over 3 ball mice in 1 month (& I DID clean it daily!), here I've had this optical mouse for over 4 months now & it still works just as good as the day I got it.

I've still got the plastic Dell graphic pad that came with my computer. It also came with a gel wrist pad that's pretty fun to poke.

Whats the point in an "Optical mouse friendly" mousemat? Part of the point of an optical mouse is that you dont need a mousemat.
