The idea is good, but there are a few things that could be improved:

The levelselection screen was way to slow and also since the game is controlled by WASD shouldn't the menu be too? (BOTH arrowkeys and WASD, perhaps) And why the mouse @ the start?

The score should be put to front, imho.

The erhm.. Ah, climbing the ladder is kinda' weird since you start falling unless you press up. I've had this problem with custom platform engines too, don't remember how I solved it though.

Last but not least, it is a fun game.
