This is a small arcade game I made as a round 1 entry for Peblo's tournament. The theme this week was cameo, and I'm dueling a guy named Fish20, so I though I'd make a game where you have to catch 20 fish. That's pretty much all you do. You gently move your fishing hook though 1-framed levels to catch fish. I hope you enjoy it!

The download seems to have "expired" or something. Maybe you could post it at a different place? Maybe box.net, mediafire, or googlepages?

Meh. I fixed the link. You lazy bum, not bothering to fix your own link.

I really liked this game in all its aspects, graphics, music and gameplay, though I have a few things to complain about.

First, you are using midis which cause the game to freeze every time the music loops. This is especially irritating when the fish is on the hook, and the timer counts the time that has passed even when the game is freezed.

I also found it frustrating that the game is over if you fail to pull the fish in before the meter is empty. Instead, the player should just lose a hook. I guess that's what the release button is for, but I think it would be best if a hook was lost but that the boat was not positioned at the beginning.

This is really good stuff, especially since it was made for the competition. I imagine the game without the freezing and me fast enough to push "r" and give it four stars.

Thank you! I can imagine it would be anoying when the game freezes at a critical moment, I'm sorry for that. I didn't test it as well as I should have. I do think losing when the bar is empty is better though. I though how it would be in real life. If you're trying to wheel in a big one, and he's stronger than you are, you have 2 options. You can either release the rod, or let him pull you into the water. I think the second one should be an instand game over.
