Hello people i'm back with a new game. This time it's a simple platform adventure game. And it's ONLY in beta demo stage so it's FAR away from done so i want you people to point out what i can improve...Thanks...

The main objektive of this game is to figure out the little
puzzles i have made.

Controls: Arrow keys to move.
Shift to boost.
X to shoot in 2 stage.
N if you wanna skip the levels.

I'n 2 stage there isn't much to do than collect the big yellow things and then shoot with them and try to figure out how to get to the other side

Credit: The game is powered by a engine called Stick engine.
Graphics: Xentull
Music: Xentull
Game idea: Xentull
Etc.

That was pretty much everything please post usable comments .
Thanks.

that's quite a nasty movement engine you've made there! Or is it some kind of default?

*unable to jump onto higher ledges
*gets stuck
*unable to jump while walking on a slope

The music is good though and the graphics are ok, but could really use paralax.

You shouldn't submit anything unless you're certain people WILL like it.

I didn't like it. Sorry.

Mooload?

Well, the graphics look reasonable, and the platform engine isn't that bad, but...

- You can't walk on the more tilted platforms.
- There are platforms, and platforms ONLY. No ground? Just a huge emptyness below the play field?
- The music gets annoying after 3 times, and doesn't fit the scene well.
- The fans move with you even if you're below them, looks kinda bad.
- The music is way too loud in comparison to sound effects.
- You can't kill enemies, just avoid them, that's kinda boring, you being the hero who has to dodge everyone and everything.
- There's no main menu. At least add in that.

All in all, I didn't really enjoy the game, but I didn't dislike it either. Just improve it.

Err... I reached the second level, and suddenly the quality goes down.

- I touched some background thingy and therefor got transported to the next level. Weird, and no "you finished" thingy or anything...
- The second level was impossible to do.

Oh god i thought you people were good at playing games and finding out the puzzles but oviusly you people aren't?....If you wanna kill the enemies then you will have to push the boxes away and then the enemies will fall down and so on....(first puzzle).....second level is easy you just have to boost yourself with the shift button over to the other side...(second puzzle) so the second lvl isn't impossible to do it's just you who has been a bit lazy and you can kill enemies you just have to think a bit more than you normally do...

Mooload... that sounds soooo wrong! I have highspeed internet and with I was getting about 22 kbs tops w/them. Maybe you could host it somewhere else... like fileden.com. They're good.

The game...

-Movement... wasn't the best I've ever seen, but wasn't unplayable. Could maybe use a little polishing.
-When I loaded the game, it showed and error box that said 'failed to initialize direct music audio" (or something like that). It's probably my computer's fault.
-Graphics- Liked the character, walking anim could be more detailed, but it still looks good.
-Music- from what I've heard it's not bad, but as soon as I touch a coin, it stops (Probably the previous bug).
-I liked how you had the platforms follow you... except that they kept following you when you get off.
-I agree w/DaVince- Maybe try a different way to transition the levels.
-There were a couple bigger bugs: 1)You can walk out of the screen at the beggining of the level (To your left). 2)Enemies get stuck in the boxes whe you're pushing them, if you're not careful. 3)Can't get past 2nd jump on 2nd level... (Just not finished yet?)

Anyways, when you do finish it, I think it would be helpful if you added some kind of optional tutorial level. The game wasn't bad, it just needs some fixing up IMO. Besides, like you said, it's a beta version, so some of these things are kind of expected.

BTW- This wasn't made with a click product, was it?

whoaaaa... that was a long comment !

Posted by Xentull 13th October, 2006

Lol thanks for the comment-...Now straight to what you did wrong ....In second lvl you just have to hold down the shift button(boost) and then run and jump over to the other side .....Maybe i'm bad at making adventure kinda stuff, but i had fun making this game
As Phizzy said it was just, "stupid" gameplay mechanics i made and not puzzles...

"you just have to boost yourself with the shift button over to the other side"

That's another problem, I never knew that because there was no manual that told me that shift was boosting, and when pressing shift normally nothing would happen! Could have added THAT info... And to be honest, this game didn't look good enough to expect a running/boost ability.

I know this was made with Game Maker, but that's not the problem of this game lacking.

Dude you didn't read my discription THATS the freaken problem read the crap i wrote up there ^ and you will find CONTROLS: SHIFT BOOST.....

Posted by DaVince 17th October, 2006

I DID before I posted that, why'd I skip that?

Posted by DaVince 17th October, 2006

(Not that it doesn't make the game any better, lol.)
