For those who havent played the original Solo soldier is a Ghost in the shell/metal gear solid style game in which you play couger unit operative Jill Hunter on the trail of the evil shadowsun terrorist organisation.

This is a slightly tweeked version of solo soldier which has been tinkered with by paul jefferies (squirrel sandwich software) with his copy of MMF and has most of the nasty glitches present in the first game cleared up,a few sections made a little fairer and it now works in full screen (aparently).
I haven't played this new version so any comments would be usefull.

It's very very difficult. Continues or lives would make it less frustrating.

i like the graphics.

for collisions and collisiond detection, use lots of invisible objects to test active objects. In my upcoming game, which is a top-down shooter which combines the action of State Of Emergency and Smash Tv, I used an invisible playfield object to test what weapon the main character has and what he can throw+fire.

How do you make games that take up so little space? I've only made 1 lvl in my game not including all animations, backgrounds, ai, and all the programming code and it already takes up 10.8 MB'S! Then again, my game is very detailed, featuring throwing objects, dropping objects, picking up objects, and my own original shooting engine, which allows the active object to fire his guns in either his left or right arm, or together, allowing the player to have his own original shooting style and flair. Good Luck on your upcoming games!

Great game. And this version has great improvments! I think you should make a version of this that is a whole one big game with a plot that goes through the game. And a menu with some options (makes it more profesinal).

yeh 2 layer backgrounds solve a lot of problems. Making lots of invisable objects help but you risk going over your object limit and your character stops shooting bullets. As for space well im not quite sure how It came to be so small the TGF one was 200kb bigger.
