The title says it all. I woul dlike to organize something like this if I have a good response from the public. There will be 16 different texts and the sum of all your exact marks will count(by exact I mean before being rounded). You will also get 1 extra point if you have the best mark in a category in a text, so the maximum of points would be 192.
This would work by you all sending me your saved files to an e-mail adress and only files with the default settings would count (You could also get penalized or "shot" if you tried to cheat ).
OK, so anyone willing to sign-up can do it in this thread. I will probably give you the texts you are supposed to write in a week or something like that. Maybe The admins could promise a reward of, like, 20 DC points or something to the winner, *hint*.
Of course I will also take place in the competition!
I will also send an e-mail to an admin with my files to prove that I am not cheating (you would have to send me your files to take part)
And yes, we will use the Keyboard Typing Test. You will have to save the results and send them to me and the REAL marks would count(not the rounded ones)
You could make a typing application that uses moosock, to connect to a database and records the time taken, the user's ip address, and a name they specify and stick them in a database, maybe? That way it'd be easier to organise, a bit harder to cheat (sure, they could type it all out in a notepad, copy n paste it etc) unless you had some sort of random text function which gets a random text file from a server, and asks them to type what's in it.
