HatMan is a platformer with a single twist; your main attack is the throwing of your hat, not unlike a boomerang.

The object of each level is to defeat the boss at the end, while along the way collecting coins. The faster you do all of this, the more of a time bonus (the blue bar on the top) you get.

The hat can be aimed with the UP and DOWN keys, and thrown with the X key. The player may jump with the Z key, and also throw the hat in the air.

Enemies can usually be stepped on to defeat them, but in case it has spikes or can not be harmed by the feet, the hat is a good thing to fall back on (unlike a certain potential vice president).

There are only three levels as I did all of this in about four days. I will make a part two probably in the near future.

I got to level 3 and game over'd

Really fun game, really nice style to it. The hat got stuck in walls a few times but it was OK since it got reset.

Overall, very nice - make more!

heh this is really good. I got to level 3 as well.
Typical Bibin stuff.
Well made and quite good fun

I think it might have been better to make Hatman be able to throw his hat instantly instead of after the throw animation. Especially when jumping, otherwise its a pain in the arse to time it right.

Incredibly adorable. I've been awaiting a game of this kind for a while now.
Kinda' reminds me of Zan-Zan in more than a few ways; graphics, character design and the whole 'hat' thing.

Fun game. Maybe too short for me to rate it. I like the retro style and the way the hat can be used. Maybe not all tiles align nicely, but the third level with the heat comming from the ground - really nice. And the main character is very well animated.

More levels are coming in the Hatman 2 release - it's really this game with more levels and a story.

I don't like these sorts of games normally but this is very well made. Although old fashioned and on a small screen, it was well animated, had some good ideas and seems very solid. I'd be happy if every game on the Daily Click was of similar quality.

This was neat! It was too hard for me but i can tell if i was good enough it would be a great game! I got stuck on the bit with the yellow doors and the flat button, but no matter how many times i jumped on it i couldnt figure out how to get the doors open.

I knew I recognized that end-level tune from some Wario-game.

Really good game here. Liked the wavy effect on "that lava level", funny naming conventions too.

The music on the second level made me smile! =

A little short though.

Just popping back in to rate this. 5 stars, definitely. It's short but I've played it a bunch of times and the whole atmosphere of the game is so perfectly retro it never gets old (er, pun not intended)

It would be nice to be able to do something about the short delay between pressing Fire and throwing the hat. How about being able to hold the button, which would make Hatman take off the hat and have it ready for an instant throw?
