Update, like, 7 years later or something. Yeah, this is a piece of shit. I just played it, and can't believe it was ever release. ANYHOO, click on the Copyright information at the beginning of the game to get a level select, so you don't have to fuck through seven levels of awful coding. Love, Lazarus.

UPDATE!:: Snerlin fixed the engine! It's much better now! Thanks Snerlin!

You play Ghoul Boy, a ghost-child who eats spoooky doom-toast, who must find an amulet in Ghoulie Castle. This amulet can turn him mortal again! But to get it, he must face many of the castles perils and baddies, and finally face of with Ghoulie, who is the Amulet's gurdian! This game will be short but sweet, combinding old-school platforming with...I dunno...something else... The engine is pretty stable and inculdes enimey stomping, toast collecting, a kewl weapon, and springs. I recently joined Neonair (I'm also part of my company, though) so you can find a preview on both sites. Snerlin made the cool logo, so thanks, Snerlin!

This was my KU Competiton entrey. Enjoy!

::UPDATE!:: Snerlin fixed the engine! It's much better now! Thanks Snerlin!

That was a bad game. I think you could have used the platform movement in TGF and done a better job. This game does not feel finished.

JP- I made the platform engine in MMF. I know its a bit buggy (sometimes you fall through stuff, exc). But come on, I had two weeks!

KU Competition was a contest held by Captin Zippy and Jon (Smegsoft) (I think it was them). You had to create it in a month. I worked on the engine, tired to fix it, and it just plain wasn't working. Anyway, the prize is a 100meg website, FTP support, and so on and so forth. If you wanted to enter, you have until the 31st.

JP: Did you FINISH the game?

Posted by 26th March, 2004

Looked nice from screens, but it blew. Fix engine.

Posted by JP 26th March, 2004

no, it was too crappy

Nooo the main character looks exactly like the one from my newest version of Wibble Wacky World :(

Posted by Capnzippy - (Smegsoft) 27th March, 2004

Well, right now, seeing as this is the only entry, it could actually win! :P Anyway, its not that bad actually. The main problem is that the detectors or whatever you're using seem to be in very odd places. Not aligned properly to the character at all... :P

I know, the engine sucks. It sucks like something sucky. But I just am not that good with engines. Snerlin is going to go over it and fix it a bit. Sorry. :( I'll work on it! :) And Circy: Yay! More WWW! :D

Posted by Capnzippy - (Smegsoft) 27th March, 2004

Echi, take into consideration that the prize is with a real hosting company, not just on neat_kliker's computer. :P

Posted by ChrisB 27th March, 2004

hmm well I have played both versions, here is my opions: On the first version the engine was very buggy, and in this new version it seems to have improved but the collision with the platforms is still buggy. Also, the vampire boy is soo annoying, you should make it so you have to push up or something to see the text and then when you are no longer over him destroy it, it blocks your view and I have died many times becuase of this. it is very annoying! Also, when you first start or restart a level you should have temporary invincibility. On the first level if I simply ran out I would collide with an enemy and restart again. Also the "platform" enemies should respawn if they are off screen! I had to purposely die several times becuase the platforms were gone and there was no way across. The menu is nice and so is the music. Well so far it is a pretty nice looking although buggy game (less bugs then there was) that needs some fixes. Well thats all I got to say for now :).

How do I make him invinsible? And to delete the messages, press space. :)

Quite okay game =) ...Only hit two keyboards broken while trying to pass the jumping scenes in the first level, but after that it was not too bad platformer =)
