You my friend have inspired me to give it another go at creating an RTS game.
I am confident I can create something cool like this too, however my biggest drawback is my extreme lack of graphical ability.
What do you use to create these graphics?? Looks sweet

Yeah, this is a pure render in 3dsmax with a ortographic camera setup, no antialiasing. I use 3Ds Max because I like the inside of my pocket, but it should easily be attainable with other software as well.

I will have to look into that program when I get some free time.
Also, have you turned this game into a classic war game now, rather than teh whole alien invasion thing?

Well, if you are used working in 3D I guess the interface is kind of easy to understand. But I used it in like ten years, so I can't really say.
I think there is much easier, and cheaper, 3D software out there. I mean, they did toy story and lots of other CG-movies in this software, you don't really need all that power 
Yeah, turned it into a typical RTS now Probably just one well-balanced "race" at the moment, and put emphasis on getting the engine up and running, including good cooperative unit movement and tcp-ip multiplayer mode. Long way to go though... 
Maybe in christmas I got a working demo out
