I would like to know what features would make level creation easier for you. Ultimate World Creator probably already includes most of them, but without actually using the program, I would just like to know what tools or features you think would be handy.

Sorry, but there is no download available yet. I am trying to get a little more feedback before I release it. There may be an upcoming opportunity for a couple beta testers.

Maybe a minimap option? Similar to Metroid or Castlevania. That would be REALLY neat.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by adding a minimap option. You can already see a mini map of what ever map you have open. You mean something different than this?

I mean have an option for the map of the level, to be displayed in the finished game itself.

This image illustrates what I mean.
Image
In the top right hand corner, you see a map of the entire game. As you walk throughout the level, the mini map updates your location, realtime.

Oh, I understand now. Actually, that would be something to add to the game engine itself, not to UWC. One could use the data from the map files created with UWC and create a mini map in game with that data.

Right, understood! Its tough. I tried many times! It would have been cool to just have it be an option or something.

Once the full release becomes available, It will come with a fully commented example file that shows exactly how to use all the UWC file data. It wouldn't be too hard for me to make an example showing how to make a mini map with the data.

"Maybe a minimap option? Similar to Metroid or Castlevania. That would be REALLY neat."

Ravi. One method you could use is to take a screen shot of the mini map in the World Creator and add it to your game. That would speed things up for you.

Just a suggestion.
