H2 Weapons Spotlight: Tyrette
Posted 17th Jun 10, by Del Duio
Wow 2 posts in one day eh? Anyhow, I made this little demo video on one of the new weapons in the game called Tyrette.

It's a cursing sword that- you guessed it- swears when swung. It also randomly banishes your enemies to the WTF Zone, which is a good way to get rid of them quickly. It has moderate attack power and two different types of swings.

To balance it out, equipping the sword will constantly drain 1 HP about every 2 seconds or so. Now it won't outright KILL you but it will eventually reduce you to 1 HP and then everything else under the sun will kill you.

For the record, this puppy is voiced by my friend Tai Heatley, lead singer for the rock band Cult 45.

EDIT: Well I can't seem to embed the stinkin' video here so the link will have to do.

And that's one of the tame ones.

Here's mister sissy again with another polite suggestion. Have an option to have the sword say common words only in pig latin instead.

Haha, you're no sissy! Don't worry I've already made the swears working hinge on a single global variable that can be shut off if necessary.

I did that so my kids can play this eventually.

I really love that. It reminds me of this:

I'm not sure if the Tyrette inflicts +59 emotional damage, too!

As the best MMF coder I know, that means a lot Pixelthief!

As far as raw damage goes, there are a lot of other weapons stronger than Tyrette. Its special banishing power is what really makes it an end game weapon. Banished enemies don't drop loot because they're not really killed, they're just sent to an alternate dimension (The WTF Zone). So if you don't care about enemy drops you should use this sword more often than not.

The HP drain is another negative mod but it was really needed to balance this thing out more.

swearing?

Yeah I know, I don't usually go for the lowbrow humor but there's plenty of intelligent stuff in here to balance it out Adam.

That soward is really creative.

The sidequest to get it is going to be pretty involved. As you might have noticed, since it can send enemies to the WTF Zone the way to get it is also through the WTF Zone.

I plan on having that area be a lot more than it was in H1.
