Better Water, Older Bricks, & a Robot
Posted 15th Aug 09, by Del Duio
Okay I tried a couple of things tonight to make the water look better & those bricks look older. I'll put the before and afters together so it's easier to see the difference.

Also as a bonus nobody asked for, here's a shot of one of the conversations in the game. For this game scenes like this are mostly done in the 1st person. The only hard part about these is making a giantized sprite of an existing 32 x 32 pixel character.

really nice improvements there, the changes to the water area really help the natural feel.
the the vine additions and crate changes, and additional grass is great! All those little details may not be neccessary for the game, but visually they really help! good work

This has such great potential, as any improvement over Hasslevania 1 is already an accomplishment I must say, promise you'll see this project through! Looks awesome

The underwater level looks pretty much the same to me - just a bit of extra "grass" on the bottom, and another appearance by The Stig.

The new brick level is a huge improvement though.
Good job

It would be nice if you could blend the edges of the torch light circles - I don't remember how easy that is in MMF1 - maybe use the alpha extension?

I really hope this gets finished...

I like the torchlights!

I've only dabbled a little bit in alpha channels. Right now I think they only exist as a blur on some of the enemies' throwing axes.

I might use some more alpha on something else but I want to stick with what I know how to do for the most part.

Oh, and what's a "Stig"?

this game reminds me of Cave Jumper for some reason
