Heh, with all the epicness out there, it's time to update my small, comfortable little project.

So, what I have here is two images. The first shows the second area of Level 1, the Refinery. The concept is simple. Blocks of ore drop down through the two spanning laser cutters (green and gray). Both cutters are lethal to the player. Oh look, there's two motion detector laser turrets as well. Which, can be slightly tricked of course. This area is also meant to show a few of the items.

Since I have two counters at the upper left corner representing health and ammo, I need to have color corresponding items to replenish them. Take a closer look if you need to. The yellow brown cans with the "S" insignia of course, refills the yellow Health bar. The square blue box like containers? They are gun coolant packs, or in simpler terms, ammo. Since the player has a laser gun, it shouldn't run out, just overheat.

And what's that green stash up there with numbers on it? Oh right, Cash! The cash is worth a random up to 100 amount. Why do I want cash? The same reason you kill enemies and destroy things. To acquire points. The more points you have at the end of a level, the more extra lives you'll earn. Up to about 9. If you earn more then 9? Well, you get extra bonus items. Like bombs and invunerability shields. Say, there's a green door blocking your path. Why don't we nab the Green and Red security CD keys and head over to the next area? Wait for the turret to stop firing first of course.

The second image is the Office area. I don't know if I want to expand this little maze ore not. But, here I want you to see that the turrets make no distinction between friend or foe. Notice the terrorist in the lower right corner? Yeah, he just got fried. I also want to show how the enemy spawn points work. See the blue doors with the gray boundaries? That's where your foes come from. Granted, they won't always come from doors. Some may come from helicopters. Some may be dropped in from above. Some may rush in on trucks. Or they could be clever and come from somewhere completely unexpected.

I want you to notice one more thing about this area. Sometimes the environment can work for, or against you. The contrasts can be as harsh as the overcrowded corridor on the left, or as desolate and barren as the one on the right.

Cya's!
