You can download the most recent version of this game here:

I did some artwork updates for the turret game; well, at least the first level. I'm still not completely satisfied with the engine, as I want a 360-degree shooting engine, but don't know how to code one. I've not found a tutorial that illustrates how to create one, either. So I'll keep looking, or eventually settle on 32 directions.

Movement can sometimes be tricky as well; the ship can 'bounce' out of the play area at times. I'm attempting to find a work-around for this.

Player lives still need to be implemented. At this point, it's visually clear when the player suffers damage, and I have an internal counter calculating such, but I still need to create damage and indicate a point when the player has to start over with a new vehicle, or repair it.

Also implemented is the "stunning" spray that temporarily freezes insects in their tracks. To activate this, collect five "components" from the dead insects, and you'll have five shots with the spray. Press the right mouse button to launch the spray. This will be tweaked in the future, in terms of availability of the components; as of right now, each insect drops the components, which is too many. This is a simple fix.

Press the "E" key to launch a delivery vehicle. This is the object of the game: to escort a delivery safely from one end of the map to the other. If it is damaged enough by the insects, it will be destroyed, and you'll have to start all over again.

I've had to scrap the auto-turret idea for now; this will be researched for future development, as I don't want to throw it out.

Once the full engine is perfected, I'll be creating different environments and challenges, including the placeable turrets, flying enemies, homing rockets (perhaps) and another trick or two up my sleeve. If anyone has suggestions once they've taken a gander at the most recent version, feel free to post it on the forums.

I anticipate the final game will have 5 levels, at most.

Thanks for reading!
