Working on the first level

I've been lately working on the first level of the game, which is going to take place in a cemetery(with zombies!), and currently doing the graphics and trying to make environment more alive. The first part of the level(entrance) looks like this as you can see in the screenshot and what I am wondering about is that what should be added in the graphics? More objects? Bigger backgrounds? For me it looks annoyingly empty . Thanks for the upcoming and previous comments, I really appreciate all of them.


And oh, there will be graves, tombstones and all the cemetery stuff but just later on the level.

It would be better with a full moon on the background with rain.

I will try how the rain would look. But the full moon I am saving for the Werewolf level ^^

Something in the foreground - maybe a huge tree every now and then that scrolls past quicker than the plane the character stands on? This will help bridge the visible gap between the player and the character.

Looks sweet though - great colour choices!

maybe some things buried in the ground under you? i.e. skulls, bones, sticks, worms, coffins, or rocks?

I'll try those things out how they'll look. Anything really goes as long as I can make it look good.
