Bugfixing, AI soon!
Posted 28th May 09, by maVado
- close button now opens menu instead of closing application
- background is now loaded correctly before the game rolls for the starting player
- starting player routine was replaced from: "first with highest roll will win" to: if two or more players roll the same number they will roll again to estimate the winner
- main menu gui added to support AI / change number of players
- ability to change names
- changed timing on help screen to be less anoying
- some of the global values where not reset correctly if exit the current match in the middle of a move

Please note that AI Checks and Turns have been disabled in this version as they are incomplete. Also changing the number of players has no effect yet (need to seperate if from the AI code).

Never heard of "Malefiz" or "Barricade" before.
Seems like a nice little game though. Plays a lot like Backgammon actually - it's all about setting your pieces up so whatever number you roll, you're able to do something useful with it.

Your computer version seems very polished. The main thing you need to add (apart from AI and online opponents of course) is a feature to highlight the possible spaces you can move to, when you select a piece, to save us having to count it out every time.

Well it's already there, but it's not visible. The reason is that this makes things too easy. The main fon of the boardgame is that people sometimes hope that others forget look over certain moves therefore not loosing a vital token because the opponent overlooked it. I may add this as option later to highlight turns.
