Competition Winners!
News posted 2nd October, 2002 by ShadowCaster
It's been a difficult month for the competition judges, but we've finally completed reviewing the many games which were sent into us for The Daily Click game making competition. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Andy, Aran, Jonathan and Tom for their hard work and dedication, as well as Clickteam for donating the prizes and helping us out whenever we required assistance (which was most of the time ).

But now onto the part you've all been waiting for... The winners of the 2002 Daily Click Game Making Competition are: Duncan Fenn for his game "Gravitorb 2" and Domenico Vona and Fabio Vona for their game "G.A.R.J.I.L."! Congratulations! Both teams will be receiving copies of Multimedia Fusion 1.5, Jamagic Home and Install Maker Pro! I hope you enjoy your prizes and continue to make great games.

Sorry to those who didnt win, all the submissions were very close and very professional. On the competition page you can find out which games the judges liked the most, and which games were the best overall. To find out more, click the "Competition" link at the top of the page.

Again, thanks to everyone who entered, and I wish you all the best of luck for next time!

~Mike

Posted by Ashman 2nd October, 2002

I actually expected FishHead 3 to win.

Posted by mrEkli 2nd October, 2002

I didn't win... Oh well.

Posted by Jon Chambers 2nd October, 2002

I didn't even make it into the top 5. I could really use a review of my game. Oh well.

Posted by danjo 2nd October, 2002

hahah - gravitorb - well then the rest of the entries couldnt have been that good then

Posted by Ashman 2nd October, 2002

LOL AH SHUT UP!!! ;)

Posted by ShadowCaster 2nd October, 2002

Gravitorb is one of the best games I've played in ages... even out of the competition. I expected Fishhead to come second though (at least, that was my second favourite :))

2 things I'd like: *To play the runners up games. *To read the judges comments on TRWTKM. (The game I submitted)

Posted by vontheo 2nd October, 2002

Yeah, even though I didn't make the top 5, I'm still really anxious to know what place I got...

Beside the winners, where can i download other games?

Posted by Plasticow 3rd October, 2002

Yah. Where?

Posted by ShadowCaster 3rd October, 2002

It's up to Clickteam as to what will happen to the remaining games. I assume they will make some of the games availabe as soon as they receive them.

*Phew*

Finally done the new submit script. Any new downloads will have to wait for one of the admins to accept it before it becomes available.

Oh yeah, and the script which lets you view your DC points is now in the User Admin section for anyone that's interested.

Yikes *_* Sorry about the spacing.

Hey, well done guys :)

Posted by Snakesoft 3rd October, 2002

Hi! We are the G.A.R.J.I.L. authors. First of all, we want to say thank you averyone for the winning. :P Second, there is a problem with the game's download in the competition website. The game you download is provided without several external files, so there are no musics in the menu and the "how to play" section doesn't work properly. I'm now submitting the *complete* version to the DC, so I suggest you to download directly this. :) Byez!!!

Posted by Snakesoft 3rd October, 2002

There are some problems with the DC server so we have to wait for submitting the game... please wait and DON'T download G.A.R.J.I.L. from the competition website, because several external files are missing. Thank you. :)

Oh!

Posted by Tigerworks 3rd October, 2002

Cool. BTW whens the next GOTW? :(

Posted by Tigerworks 3rd October, 2002

Cool, thx :D

Posted by Yoshiman 3rd October, 2002

Hey where can I download the games then???? :)

Posted by The Chris Street 3rd October, 2002

He means Gravitorb 2 I think :) The one with the level editor. Am I right, Duncan?

Posted by Shen 3rd October, 2002

Click Competition on the top bar, then 2002 Winners on the sidebar :)

Posted by Snakesoft 3rd October, 2002

Remember that the GARJIL version available in the compo website is wrong: several external files are missing. Please wait for download it: when the troubles with the DC server are over we'll submit the right version at the DC. :P

So, will anyone else be able to see what their games received as scores? I worked really hard on my game and patiently waited for the results, and I want to at least see a list of all the entries and the scores they received...

Posted by Muggus 3rd October, 2002

Well done guys, the games are great!...I should have submitted something! DAMN...always next time I suppose!

Posted by ShadowCaster 3rd October, 2002

You can email me for your final score, which ranged from 0% to 90%. I'm not giving away any of the specific scores though, from the judges.

I just saw the Gravitorb2 - it´s great!!! If you´d like you can Download my game (TUNe) from http://www.patife.art.br/TUNe.exe. Thanks, Jonathan, for the "professional product" thing.

Posted by Snakesoft 4th October, 2002

G.A.R.J.I.L. is now submittedto the Daily Click! Now you can download the other winner! :P

Posted by matrixkitty 4th October, 2002

damn it where can i d/l red feud?

Posted by skn3 5th October, 2002

Lucas. no problems :) ther was a good batch of games, to me the results were not suprising. Ffrom the moment i loaded gravitorb, i knew it was the winner. As for G.A.R.J.I.L I wasn't expecting it to place in the winners,.. but it was very addictive so i gues that played on the others judges. All in all, some very good games out of the click shed .. keep it up everyone, Even those that did not win, there will always be other competitions, and other prizes, its just more time to get better at clicking...

Posted by Lucas Santos Junqueira 5th October, 2002

How many entries did the contest have?

Posted by Mårten 5th October, 2002

-=< RED FEUD >=- I would like to make the game .exe but I only have the MMF demo. Can anyone help out?

Posted by Snakesoft 6th October, 2002

What about the Mode 7 ex Awards?

Posted by TomH 6th October, 2002

No one entered with a Mode 7 Ex. So cello is not running that part of the comp any more.
