Multi Media Fusion 2 games playing on Sony PSP?
News posted 20th March, 2010 by Rikus
Now this could be fake but I found this video of someone in Brazil showing off his game made inside of mm2 and then playing the same game on his PSP! In this video you see him showing the actual mmf code as he then moves his camera to the psp with the same game running on it! If this is real then get ready for your mind to implode!

But to be serious and sceptical, if you think about it, how would this be possible? I believe the sony psp supports java but I am not a 100% sure. Feel free to let us know what you think about this and how the guy might have pulled it off!

On another note would anyone know if small memory flash games made in mmf would work inside of the psp browser? I know the psps support flash but it would be cool to check if they would actually run.

Pretty sure that's just a video he's playing on the PSP, and not actually the game.

I did this with my PSP and Splotches, it's not hard to do.

Trust me bro in brazil EVERYTHING is pirated. so this doesnt surprise me.

Speaking of flash games on your psp, would it be possible to play a game on your psp using flash? I know you cant play big flash games but if someone would make a small memory flash game and you type the flash url into your psp browser, would it work?

Doesn't really matter, PSP has a painfully small screen. Its best to enjoy games on a TV or computer.

Ohh i love the screen on my psp its perfect for platformers and rpgs in my opinion.

If I remember correctly, you can install Linux on the psp. So I guess you could play all kinds of games with wine.

Or was it the ps3?

lol the PSP screen is huge for a handheld

It's the PS3 (and only the fat models, not the new slim ones), and Wine won't work on it because it's a PPC architecture (Wine requires an x86 cpu, just like Windows)

PSP having a small screen? You on crack? What fricken handheld consoles are you used to? The psp screen is huge compared to other handhelds.

Not to mention the psp has component cables that allow you to hook it up to your tv . . .

That's kinda neat. I'd buy a PSP just for that reason!

Well... probably not. I'd rather have an Xbox360, tbh.

Posted by Esperware Interactive 20th March, 2010

well I don't suppose it's impossible but it could be a video playing on the PSP instead of a game.

Posted by Fanotherpg 20th March, 2010

It's possible cause Sony opened a bit PSP and you can run not Sony apps on it. One of other companies is making even port to PSP from their editor.

Hey W3R3W00F you can get a 360 pretty easily.

Find someone you know that has a broken one. Take it, or buy it from them. Repair it (1 hour tops + time to gather parts.) - parts are about $15 for 1 console, but consoles cost on average about $3-$5 to fix since you reuse the thermal compound.

and you have a 360.

You can probably find YLoD ps3s pretty cheap too.

The psp supports flash, but it's flash 7. There are some homebrew apps that let you run java mobile but I could never get it to work.

Also the psp can run windows 95 but it's hardly fast enough to run an mmf game.

I call fake.

A year ago or so I tried it to run a game in java on psp but it didn't work. Today, it is possible -although i haven't tried it- to run a mmf2 flash game on psp or ps3.

I say it's homebrew, just like with Knytt DS that someone on the Nifflas Support Forums is developing for the Nintendo DS. I wouldn't at all be surprised if he just made this homebrew, nothing with built-in MMF at all.

It's a video.

I just had to laugh about the ignorance provided by Mr alastair john jack
"Doesn't really matter, PSP has a painfully small screen. Its best to enjoy games on a TV or computer. "

I am certain you mind me saying this because freedom of speech is a nasty thing and shame on the person who expresses himself but thats well... to put it a nice way not a really smart comment.

We were excited about JAVA and playing games on mobile phones and he complains the PSP is supposed to have a "small" screen. Out of all handheld devices, iphone, nintendo ds and whatever
the psp certainly has the BEST screen.

ALSO if OldManClayton says he got it to work I believe him but I don't see this guy PLAYING HIS OWN GAME ON THE PSP. i see him jerking around with his camera and just moving around while the character in the game walks around and suddenly jumps up a tree and still i see no buttons being pressed on the psp- thats odd hmm

So I have to agree with Introversity
i believed THIS ONE is just a video playing

also i just saw OldManClayton's last comment so blah fuck all the shit ive spent my time on writing lol

This IS possible with homebrew, and not limited to java.

Posted by OMC 23rd March, 2010

Yea, I just realized I didn't make my first comment very clear. I meant I had a video of my game in PSP resolution.

Homebrew is certainly possible, but I don't think with MMF2.

Posted by MasterM 23rd March, 2010

ive never got flash to work on my psp ive to admit
so i dont know how REAL flash on the psp is as in:

i couldnt view any flash content. not on newgrounds either but newgrounds has a special PSP area with a FEW selected movies- those would work fine so i really dont know about FLASH on the psp. it doesnt seem to be 100% true flash - or wasnt when i checked it years ago. not sure what its like now.
