New Admins 2009!!

Well here they are folks! I have chosen not 1 but 3 new Admins! The reasons are many but I will not bore you with that.



In no real order first up we have Robert Rule He blew me away with his fantastic and very well written application, he admits to be dwelling in the shadows but is ready to be out front and centre and dazzle us with new updates and his great writing skills. Please welcome Robert Rule to the admin team!

Next up and he needs no introduction OldmanClayton Joins the admins ranks! Well known for his public appearances in klikcast, around the forums and on the projects page omc is everywhere! Lets give him a firm handshake and a hug! OMC welcome to the admin team!

Then Jon Lambert is also joining the admin team, there is no denying Jon has a huge love and dedication to the site with setting up the tdc community project and always around to help out anyone I know he will also be a great help to the admin team. Welcome Jon!

Phew now there is something that still needs to be discussed, like last time all 3 admins are on a 2-3 week trial. At the end of the trial, both the new admins, the current admins and the users can have a say in whetever this new person is a good fit to be a admin, is he posting enough, helping out, or did his personal conditions change or underestimated the job at hand, and cant be around the site as much as he wishes it all comes into play and both sides can make a clean break at the end of the month no harm no faul. So new admins, give it your best give it your all impress everyone with your new updates on the front page and whatever you choose to do, have fun with it!

Well done to Jon and Clayton, both thoroughly deserved.

And goodness me, what a pleasant surprise. I've wanted to help out the site for a while now, being that there aren't many klik sites out there, (why not?) and it's lucky for klikers that one as good as TDC exists. Thanks for the trust in a relatively new face, Rikus! I'll do my best.

Lol, looks like someone's going to have to start posting more Or they already have...always happens. Someone becomes an admin and starts posting more than their usual once a month post, to try and prove they're active... then after a week or two they get bored and stop visiting or posting.

Of the three of us it'll almost certainly be me he's referring to, as I've been a daily visitor since 05 but a rare poster until now, and I've read you guys posting everyday, so it can't be you! Fair enough comment, we're all entitled to our opinions, and I can understand his. I suspect time will prove him wrong, but I'd much rather focus on the positives - apparently TDC has some new admins?!

It's my personal opinion that admins should ideally be active if they can be, so active I intend to be; wouldn't have applied to help out otherwise.

Admins should get their new status today, hopefully I can rest a bit more now and thank for sticking with me these past months hopefully no1 got sick off all of those rikus front page news posts

By the way... why on earth didn't Bibin get a position if he applied?

He's submitted loads to the site as well as being a well known and somewhat respected member for his original and unique gaming ideas...a keen contender and good sport in many competitions in the forums... to be honest I can't believe that happened

Next time admin applications come up, please, PLEASE, do it in the style of a true community site and let the community vote and do the judging, or at least have an input on the applicants available to choose from.

Every admin was carefully selected and trust me there were great people to choose from, it was hard to choose. However keep doing what you are doing if you did not get in this time some people applied more then once, dont get upset if you do not get picked, stand tall respect the decision and if you truly want to be a admin it will happen.

Maybe next time the choosing of a new admin should be done using a poll. To avoid stuff like up here.

But my point is if this is a community site why not let the other members have more of an input? I know it's your site Rikus, but sometimes you're going to have a happier community if everyone agrees on decisions by settling it with a poll vote, especially something as big as this.

Why is everyone throwing their toys out of the pram over the appointment of admins? This site is free and is here only for our entertainment. It's not like we're deciding Prime Ministers/Presidents here! Sometimes we don't get what we feel is deserved - that's life i'm afraid. Let's all get behind the new admins and keep giving them stuff to report on!

I like the new admins.

I think Rikus did the right thing by picking them himself. He's got the most experience in picking admins, and he knows what qualities work and what don't. And he's the one who sees the ultra-secret things behind the scenes like bad behavior which gets censored out before anyone else notices.

So, good choices, all three of them. Not all would be my first pick if I got a vote, but seeing how they're doing, they'd certainly have been my choices now.

Also we have to keep in mind we are talking about ADMINS here. That's the people who are not allowed to be rude and will always be accused of power abuse when their game is on the front page.
