TDC Official 2003 Christmas Compo!
News posted 17th November, 2003 by Pete Nattress
The Official Daily Click Christmas 2003 Competiton is on! Many apologies for the delay, but there was a bit of confusion regarding the administration of the whole damn thing. However it has now been established that Sejj and myself are running it, and this year’s theme is WINTER SPORTS. Your task, should you chose to accept it, is to create a game which concentrates on a winter sport of your choice. This could be anything… Skiing, Skating, Curling, whatever… use your imagination! Just as long as it’s a sport and as long as it’s wintry!

Specific rules, prizes etc, are to be announced at a later date, when the competition website is launched. I just thought you’d like to know now so that you can start working. The deadline will New Year’s Eve, so you will have about a month and a half to make your game. Thanks, and apologies once more for the delay.

so what qualifies as a winter sport? could snow ball fighting be a sport?

Posted by ben_02 17th November, 2003

A winter sport game is a really bad idea. So is a christmas theme. My suggestion: no genre restriction.

LOLOL - and i was remaking Xtreme Ski , dont know if i would enter it tho.

Do you have to use a clickteam-program to create it??

Posted by MidnighT_RaveN 18th November, 2003

:( *sigh*

The game can include hunting, shooting etc. As long as it is a sport (meaning there is you, and an opponent, making your way with specific rules to gain points to defeat eachother).

Posted by RapidFlash 18th November, 2003

Their doing wintry games because there's not a lot of them around. I might just enter (for real), seeing as I have little do except minor fixes for Egg Bomb: Eggstreme.

Posted by MidnighT_RaveN 18th November, 2003

so I'm assuming snow ball fights would work.

The last competition wanted SPORTS games also(although it also included adventure games). Hopefully the next compo will not be a SPORTS compo. :(

There´s written "Games must not use a resolution greater than 800x600" in the rules. Can the resolution be SMALLER than 800x600, for example 640x480?
