Clickzine Pay their Writers!
News posted 4th January, 2003 by ShadowCaster
You probably know of the return of The Clickzine to your screens, which shall be out rather soon, but unfortunately we are still lacking writers. What we have here is a payment system which will hopefully entice you klikkers to write some stuff for us!

For obvious reasons, we can't pay you actual cash, but what we can do is pay you with DC Points. This is how the system will work:

Each Review: 5 points
Each Article: 10 points
Each Preview: 10 points
Here are the guidelines-
Each review must be over or close to 500 words, and must be good quality, we won't accept any reviews which are done in a couple of minutes, you need to think about them. The games can be from all over the community, and from any release date. Score each game out of 10 for the following: Graphics; Music; Sound; Presentation; Gameplay; Lastability; overall. Remember, these are reviewed as klik games, we are not comparing them to commercial games (although some are that good, so in these cases, yes you can give comparisons)

Each article has to be over 800 words, and must be relevant to klikking. We don't want tutorial articles, just articles about things that are happening around the place, etc. etc.

Previews have changed since the last issue. This time, you cannot preview your own game, you must find someone else's game (as a Beta release etc.) and preview it. Around 500 words is good, and we need lots of impressions. The only score you need to give is out of 10 for how exciting the game sounds.

If your review, preview or article is used as a feature in the issue, then you will get a bonus 5 points. Another thing to remember, make sure you check with us before writing your review, preview or article to see if that game/idea has already been covered. Not all submissions will be accepted, only good quality work which fits within the guidelines. Points will be added when the issue comes out.

For more information contact me or KlikmAster. Contact KlikmAster to see if the game/idea has been covered.

Cheers,
-PeterG

Probably a better idea if there's more points awarded.. I'll surely help if i'm good in english...but too bad...i'm not.

But when you think about it, you don't get much points for submitting stuff here (between 1-5 for reviews, downloads, articles etc.) so if you get a feature article that is 15 points. Quite a lot in my mind.

I might do some stuff (though I'm not so concerned about the points)

Can I get awarded points for the next installment of the comic?

Posted by PeterG 4th January, 2003

probably, I am not the one handing out the points, so I will have to check. Meanwhile, if you have the comic ready, we need them as soon as possible!

We need more reviews, more previews, lots more articles and possibly afew more comics. Unfortunately, I've been on a small holiday and so some emails havenot been replied too. Sorry for the delay!

is it just me or does the clickzine not work? It comes up with the 'this page cannot be displayed' page

Posted by Shen 4th January, 2003

If you submit to it it'll work faster

This sounds pretty cool.

Uhhh, what kinda awards can we expect for these points?

Posted by CYS 4th January, 2003

Davster, of course clickzine diesn't work, it's not done yet

Points put up your user rating, thats about it. A lot of people would want to submit stuff anyway whether theres points or not. Getting points isn't to great, but its better then not getting any.

Damn straight.

How many would you give for a lot of cheats.

Posted by AsparagusTrevor 5th January, 2003

maybe the standard shit should have word limits putting on them. Like a DC preview with mandatory screenshots. For example. Do it, bloody hell.

no cheats, we don't do cheats :( The zine doesn't work because the old issues were taken down by some fool *looks at shadowcaster in disgust* Lol They will be back though :)
