How did they make those nifty graphics back in the day? I know they didn't completely draw them by hand, what with all those sand particles and the wood grain in those old western games. The graphics are soo cool, and I think it would be awsome to be able to replicate that feeling.

There were various graphics packages even back then...primitive by today's standards ofcourse, but you can tell the graphics were still done pixel-by-pixel. Shame- it's a lost art really...

But, say the priate ship in KnP (doing the mini comp), it's so detailed, they couldnt have made it by hand!
