I need to make some objects activate/deactivated and destroyed when outside window field (not playfield). In one of my games I used a active object as the same size of the window that followed in the scrollings (and called it active window object). and when I wanted a object to be activated I used this: When "object" is overlapping "Active window object" = eg. start movment, and deactivated it like this: (negate)"ovject" overalpping "active window object" = movment stop.

However, this causes the game to somethimes crash. I want to remove it and replace it with events, plz tell me how

It shouldn't crash normally. Did you untick 'Inactive when far from window' in the object's Scrolling properties?

I tested it. But I still get this error and my game crashes, I change my topic: How to fix mmf bug the game crashes. It seems It happens too much at the same time or something, and the game gives my an unexplained error and make my game stop and exit. This is the error message: "Multimedia Fusion Stand Alone Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I know it may be obvious. But you did update MMF to latest version? Because normally what you are doing should not crash the game.

Are you sure THAT is what crashes the game?

no, not really. Have tried a lot of things. Removing some stuff from the event editor did work, but the game sucks more and more. Havnt updated MMF, though. I tried to run the game in win98/nt competable, I think maybe it worked, gonna test some more...

Dont run MMF games in compatible mode. Its like putting a new Porsche engine in your porsche but adjusting it to "scooter" mode. MMF is fully XP compatible and does not need any sort of compatibility mode with other windows version.

How ever, if you havent updated MMF and use the version off the cd its no real wonder if you get errors. The updates since the cd version fixes *LOTS* of bugs. I mean LOTS!!!

Everyone should always apply the lastest patch as it solves loads and loads of bugs especially compared to the version off the cd.

I'm sure Jeff put little stickers inside all the new MMF CDs that shipped saying 'upgrade to the latest build' :|
