Is the a well explained tutorial on how to use the isometric grid object? I want to be able to build things anywhere on the grid.

If you're still using the Isometric Grid object, you should download the Clickteam Bonus pack to get Iso Grid 2. Iso Grid 2 comes with two example files showing an isometric level editor and world viewer with a character moving about and jumping in it.

But because everyone called it 'command dialog', I'll give you a link so you don't have to wait for nobody to reply on my forums.

Yeah, it's common dialogue, but all it does is a file selector, like the file object has
