How do you make sky backgrounds with colours that fade into each other.

Just slab on a gradient that has a deep blue at the top and a lighter blue at the bottom. That's the simple way

If you have Maya you can make some REALLY cool sky shots (among other things ) by using the "Visor" to draw on things such as clouds. Maya takes care of the rest.

Ahh, how can you ever compete with replying after a ShadowCaster post...

Gradients are the easiet, unless you want to 'download' maya / pay for it, or whatever... plus you have to learn a whole new program...

meh... do whatever blows your horn. both can work well

If you want to make bitchen sky backgrounds, download a program called Terragen from http://www.planetside.co.uk, then use your favorite graphics program to chop off the land part of it. It's totally free and gives some stunning results.

Terragon is quite limited. It's phun if you're just starting out, but you wouldnt make a game using it.

These are the type of backgrounds I want in my game:

Where can I download a program that will allow me to make these with any colour I choose...? Terragen was good but not exactly what I wanted.
