I'm one of those weirdoes doesn't think mmf is all great and stuff....the only real downside imho, is the sprite editor... in Tgf you could easily draw sprites directly in the program, but i don't think this is easy doing in mmf...so i'm interested on how people handle this ? do you guys draw stuff in a 2nd program and then import it ? or ... ?

I do all spriting in MMF. It takes time to get used to the interface but after a while you will wonder how you ever managed with the basic drawing features of TGF. All I can say is that you should just keep practising

I just draw them and scan them in.

I am practicing with the mmf editor for more than a year now and I still hate it.
I just do my gfx in the good old tgf editor and paste it in mmf.

"The main problem I had with MMF's picture editor was the lack of the 'right click to sample colour' thing."

Exactly, I've always thought that too. I just love the simplicity of the TGF and CNC sprite programs. Even if I want to draw something that has nothing to do with TGF I draw it in there anyway and then import it into Paint. I love it.

1- Yeah...and if it's features people want, they could easily have done the sprite editor in mmf like the one in tgf...it'd just require more buttons...

2- i've been thinking of doing a paint program sorta like tgf's in Visual Basic... dunno if it's worth the effort though

i do the same as Fishhead does, make the graphics in TGf (easy) and move it over to MMF. But It's not the same because I have MMF

I agree with Fishhead, I'm not a great fan of the MMF picture editor. It's more powerful than TGF's, and the interface is fine enough once you get used to all the new features, but I have much better paint programs to use.

Paint Shop Pro all the way! I just copy and paste em in.

Frankly i used TGF for quite a while, but as soon as I got MMF I migrated very easily without dramas. I don't understand how people have problems with any aspect of MMF, it took me like 10 minutes to understand the interface

The sprite editor in TGF is horrible, maximum 8x zoom is lame, right click colour absorb is exactly the same as shift+click, so I dont think there is an issue there. Tho i do have to agree with Hadoken, in that sometimes it goes weird with the transparent colour, you just have to shift+click on the pallete, to change the transparent colour. But really, MMF sprite editor is just like TGF editor except with more features, better colour support (double click on a colour in the palette), better zooming, better animation support, more brushes.

Honestly MMF is just a less buggy, better featured, more powerful and more professional superior offspring of TGF, which is old, stale and infested with bugs.

Well I drew my avatar in MMF. Its a great picture editor. After you've used MMF's you'll realise how sucky the TGF one is.
