ive put these events in

Start of Frame =
PMO} Set Object to Active

PMO} Object is standing on ground
Pressed Shift =
PMO} Jump

PMO} Test for obstacle overlap
Active is overlapping backdrop =
PMO} Object does collide with obstacle

Repeat while Left is pressed =
PMO} User is moving left

Repeat while Right is pressed =
PMO} User is moving right

okay so i have my above conditions and this should be good enough so the active contacts the OBSTACLE background (yea i set it as obstacle already). and should be just fine after that. but no he just falls through all the way through. Is their something im doing wrong???

Make sure the "test for obstacle overlap" comes before the "active is overlapping backdrop" in the condition. You typed it in the correct order but you might not have put it in the correct order in MMF.

Make sure "collision with box" is not checked in the obstacle properties of the backdrop.

There is a slope pixel correction for uphill and downhill slopes if you double-click on the PMO. Try fidddling with those variables.
