I know what you're thinking: here's some cocky newbie who isn't content with the midis that many people have laboured to produce, asking if he can put some of his best MP3's on his games. You couldn't be more wrong. I love midi's, and some are truly exceptional, but dispite searching the internet for many hours I have only found the music I need in MP3 format (ironically in the form of midi quality reproductions). Does anyone know of any extensions or any other way I can play these?

Let me tell you a secret that barely anyone knows (or uses) when looking for files (such as midis) always add

*.mid

before your search

therefor if you are looing for midis on google you would type

*.mid midi archive

and you will find some decent things...

This also applies to other file names as well; such as .exe .zip .txt and exectera...

In mmf there is an object that plays mp3 files. its called direct play or something like that. You would have to iclude the mp3 with the download though and most hosts will not host mp3 files.

Thanks everyone. I'll try some of those.

direct play is an extension used for making multiplayer games via Directx... o_0

you may be confused with Direct Show. that's included in MMF but it runs slowly and has limited features. DMC is much better.

Don't forget .mod, .xm, .it, .s3m and a couple other files w/ DMC2. I think there might've been more with some other objects.
