Aloha! (No, I'm not from hawaii)
First of all, this is an update on the progress of the rpg battle system. I announced this a while ago but I've been working on it. At first, I thought I could do the whole thing on one 640*480 frame. I wanted it set up so that it would ask the player some questions and use the results to set up the game. Things like, how many characters, which enemies, should player have items, etc. Then, the game would set up to the answers. Unfortunately, this proved impossible (for me). So, what I did is add another frame and put all the questions on there. So far, I can get four results just to see what the game would be like when certain players or enemies would be chosen. I also got the character who would be in the first position (who goes first) from the user. In the battle frame, I have all (I think) player interactive objects in the frame. Outside the frame I have a few things ready for item selection and for the player to select a move. Also, if its a characters turn, then a text box will display his move(s) from another text box (so not to clutter a single text box with all players moves). I have so that if hero1 is in position1 then show hero1s first move. Also, I have it so that the enemy positions reflect the player positions. I have a move selector and an item selector to player working. What I'm working on now is the for the first hero to attack an enemy. I have all the item icons and item result animations ready to use, just not coded yet. I'll be working on the first moves codes this week and maybe you'll get another progress report next week. Till next time, hang in there!

Now, this is pretty sad if I have to post to my own post to get attention. Well, I guess no one cares anymore. But, just for news, I can have all three characters attack now. No stats involved yet and just basic attacks. Also, I can see why no one pays much attention cuase this isn't the first time this has been done. In case you were wondering, no, I did not look at anyone else's engine before I started making mine.
Until next time,
See ya homies!

Yeah....TDC is a very welcoming community. Image.gif"></IMG>

Honestly though.....not many people seem interested in hearing about games anymore......unless it's a demo, then they'll download it and try it.

Unless you've got some kickass screenshots and a well thought out story and plot then dont bother mentioning your game... thats what I've always thought.
