i don't think it is. sure, it's nice and can do much more than the default, but i won't use it for several reasons:

1) it's still like using someone elses work and professing its your own
2) there's no satisfaction of knowing you're good at coding
3) you can still program all the stuff it can do yourself
4) anything that's pre programmed cannot allow you to do exactly what you want if you have a clear idea of what you want to accomplish.

that's my 2 cents. what do you think?

I think it's a great idea, but I will still make my own custom movement.

Since it's basically what I would do anyway I see no problem in using it. I still would have to code ladders, moving platforms, swimming, jetpacks, and bouncing on the heads of bad guys

Couldn't agree more.

My initial thoughts are that I'd rather make my own movement, but I've yet to investigate it fully and I'm all in favour of it if it reduces the number of games we see plagued by the dreaded default movement.

I think it is a good idea, but I personally wouldn't use it. I have too much fun coding. I have TGF and MMF, but it's funny that I've only found 3 things(excluding objects like active X, moo sock, etc.) that TGF can't do(somehow) that MMF can. It's fun coming up with work-arounds.

Yes, it does replace custom movements. If you like coding then that's fine, but in terms of efficiency the platform movement object is the way to go. It is very flexible, easily as flexible as any custom movement. Another bonus is zero detectors.

I'm happy they made this beast. They answered my prayers. Sure, there's great satisfaction in coding some tough crap, especially the whole movement...but for new klikers (and me!) coding custom movement is just as fun as beating yourself with a stick. I'd rather make my simple, no jet-pack, crazy jumping, ect. platformers and use this heaven sent blessing to it's full capabilities. That's a lot of relgious terms comming from an atheist! Weird, huh??

i dont think that that movment extention is completly bugfree so i would never get mmf to use that

i cant see why its an extension instead of a patch that takes the place of normal platform movement.

Actually from my tests, it is bug free. Waste time coding if you want, but thats not the reason I use MMF myself. The less I have to do, the better, especially if the results are just as good as doing it myself. Maybe I am different than some of you but I am more intrested in making a fun game instead of spending time on a movement if I don't have to.

It's a great extension, but yes. It takes the fun out of coding sometimes. I would use it in cases where i need to make something fast, such as a game for my friend's birthday or something where he wouldn't give a crap if it was custom or not.
