Say two games were uploaded, one called (The Matrix Kill Fun) and the other called (The Box). Now (The Box) was an awesome adventure game and had very good game play and (The Matrix Kill Fun) was a dodgy 1 level game. Which one would get the most downloads? (The Matrix Kill Fun). People should explore new games, ones they've never heard of before. This way more people would get recognised and others would get encouraged to make more original games.

Not nessisaryily, sure i'd check the game with the cool name first. But i'd eventually come round to the other game. And alot of the time the good games are posted on the front page. Also games with good names are usually made by more experianced people who know what they are doing. Other games with less "enticing" names are usually made by less talented people.
I mean, if ED was named "The magic girl" it doesn't sound as good does it? But those guys know what they are doing.
I'm not sure but I think I mentioned that on my article on getting more downloads .
I think even the name The Box could get quite a few downloads. It's unique. But I know a superb game by the name of The Clue! which hardly got recognized. It was an excellent, detailed game where you got to commit robberies, but I guess the name killed it. And I think almost anything with the world 'girl' or the letter X in it would get at least a look. The Matrix Kill Fun might get a lot less looks, but that's mainly coz people hate fan games.
People should explore new games, but nobody has all the time for it. Everyone goes for the rep or at least the interesting name first. Take Invasion of the Muz for example. It's probably the lowest rated game in the DC, but its got its share of hits and comments.

Oh, I remember "The Clue!". I had a demo of it from a PC Home cover disc, I think. Every time I tried to run it, it crashed and gave me an obscure error message in German.
Well-done Hayaman-san! I thought you were only joking when you said you would make “The Magic Girl.” I played it and it’s a bloody good job for less than a days work. Wouldn’t that be nice in the future, if posts made people make games. Good Stuff! Thumbs up.
yeah u are totally right.. but that can be fixed by advertisement.. if I see a game on the front page.. and on the comments it is said that it is a good game.. then I would download it.. unless it had a f*cking installer.. I don't want an icon on my desktom I dont want an icon on the start menu and If theres any files needed on windows\system\ folder I rather place them myself so I know what's going on on my computer.
Lol, most of my games i make only take a day or to... that is the ARCADE section of games... most of the time (like this one) i dont bother to add it to the downloads... but thats a good thing; there is already too much crap in there and chances are NOBODY WOULD EVER WANT TO SIFT THROUGH THE CRAP just to play a game by the name of "the magic girl"
any ideas for a game i should have ready by tommorow night?
