I've mentioned em over and over again... but since I didn't put much stress on em, nobody really paid attention. So here... I'm starting a new post and cutting down my daily post limit by one just to write this...

1. WE NEED AN EDIT BUTTON for posts (and maybe even reviews). C'mon the 'Editing' part got the most votes back in that poll when the DC was remade. And tons of people are requesting it. So SC (or Clubsoft/Rikus), why don't we have a darn edit button here? You know that the lack of an edit button only leads to more spam. And sometimes it's better to delete or tune down a particularly offensive post after you've read it back. We'll have less wars and spam here! You'll be saving bandwidth and causing less deaths of high blood pressure just by having an edit button!

2. An Article Zone/FAQ section. Articles can really, really help people. They promote free speech, but discourage replies. They train our fellow clickers to give and not hope for anything in return. 70% of them aren't particularly useful, but those that are help improve the quality of klik programs everywhere. Articles and tutorials (and maybe some extensions) are the major reason that klikers are far better today than they were on Y2K. If good reviews were put on the Review Zone, then why should articles be given an article zone? If the problem is coz nobody wants to edit it, then I'll willingly work on it as soon as I get admin powers once again (and I have the time to use em) . Better yet, it should just be a FAQ, where the questions & answers asked again and again on the Code-It boards can be put.

3. Redo the Top Articles section. I mean, the top article is an outdated convention report. And seeing how people just click it just for the sake of seeing the Top Article in The Daily Click History, I very strongly doubt that anything could ever beat it (unless someone pressed the refresh button while looking at his article about 2000 times or so). What should be there is the most viewed articles in the past 7 days or so.

4. Bring back the top 100 posters thing. Maybe the top 5 were too much, but the top 100 were reasonable entertainment.

5. Make a compo for the best DC-themed multiplayer game . You know, something where DC members can just slug it out without having a full flame war. No need to give a fancy prize for the compo... 30 or so DC points will do nicely.

I agree with all of that. Especially the Article Zone thing. Far too many articles are based around things like making storylines and making articles (strangely enough) and they should put the best, most useful, most in-depth ones in a place of their own.

Another thing to add to that is a Edit function for links. I keep having to delete then repost my link when I change servers, or when something exciting happens.

Change it!

Those are the best DC suggestions I have read so far. C'mon on Shadow Caster, we need these.

I agree with #1, as I have been asking it for a while. ShadowCaster says that he would do it but he has more important things to do now.
#2 is unnecessary in my opinion (though I agree about the reason klikkers are better because of articles: I learned a lot of things from them).
I agree with the rest of the things Muz has said.

What also would be cool is:

When your typing in a post or replying to one, there should be all those options such as; font, bold, italic etc. There should also be the opportunity to put in picture or a screen shot.

Maybe have a feature that allows your modem to recive frequenys sent from the brain and transfer them to a text box on the site so there will be no need for any typing! Just think of reviews, comments ect and they are instantly submited!

The brain 'frequneys' idea ain't so good. We'll end up with articles/posts with excessive swearing and all that uncensored stuff.

You know what else we need? A little thing that makes us log off when we're not active for about 24 hours or so. I'd hate to think what would happen if I forgot to log off at a cyber cafe or some other public area. It's worse considering how my classmates just love identity theft.

I still want the FAQ section done. That and the edit button are my top priority and I won't shut up till Rikus, ShadowCaster, or Clubsoft tell me what they think.

Muz:
1. Done.
2. I have so many things to update every week on DC, plus it's nice to have an hour or two to myself where I'm not doing either work for DC or work for uni! But if Rikus or Clubsoft want to do it then there is no problem (needs to be either of them because they have access to the FTP, unless Rikus or Club want to develop a script, or if I find some time to do it in the near future, but dont count on me having spare time to myself any time soon).
3. Do you want a system like the Thumbs system in the download section?
4. It encouraged spamming too much, I wont bring this back, sorry.
5. There may be a competition coming soon and Rikus and I were trying to come up with ideas for what we could do it on that was original... A DC themed comp sounds like fun

Edwin:
1. Already exists, see the link on the RHS on the forum list page.

Buster:
1. I havent learned how to do that yet in my BCST course, but as soon as my lecturer tells us how to do it, I'll add it to DC.

1. Thank you, oh mighty ShadowCaster for furfilling our demand. No sarcasm intended .

2. You could probably do a link to a seperate page or something where someone I could put up an Article Zone or FAQ section. But then again, is it really that hard to put it up? I mean, it could just be a section where you categorize articles (eg. Click tutorials, graphics tutorials, Click concepts, philosophical, or misc) and it could probably be just a modified version of the downloads section.

But we understand that you wish to have time to yourself and the demand for it isn't that high, so just take your time with it. It'll still help improve the overall quality of articles and maybe even get those people who kept whining about articles somewhere to visit .

3. The Thumbs system reminds me of everything that was wrong with the original DC ratings, but since there really isn't any better way, I suppose it'll do.
