Does anyone have a Wii U? (I know the likeliness of the answer being "No" given its sales situation).

I want to get the Pro Controller but it's very pricey. There are cheaper 3rd party options I know but they almost always are a let-down in terms of quality.
I have a Classic Controller Pro (god the names they choose are confusing) which is fine but I hate that it has to be tethered to the Wii-mote to function.

Are they worth getting? I'm thinking more for multi-player games like Super Mario 3D World and Smash Bros. since the GamePad is perfectly comfortable to use single player, but I have plenty of alternative controller inputs for those upcoming games too.

I want to get a Wii U because I enjoy the DS.
It's essentially just a big DS, and I'm sure that's what they were going for.

Plus that new Mario game looks fantastic!

Anyway I know that doesn't answer your question.

I have a Wii U, but I don't have a Pro Controller because I can't justify the expense for so little use (I already have two Wii Remotes and Nunchuks as well as a Classic Controller Pro). I almost bought it on a whim one day. I imagine it's similar to an Xbox 360 in terms of feel based on the shape.

I bought the Wii U at launch and I enjoy it but I think it's only just becoming worth it's price in terms of games for it. I too have a pro classic controller and four Wii remotes haha so I am too struggling to justify purchasing one.

I mainly want it because I have a few friends who only play nintendo when at my house and they much prefer a traditional controller (I dig the Wii remote + nunchuck combo: I like being able to play games with one arm on each armrest of the recliner chair haha)
