Hey everyone! I've been working on a new game for a couple of months now in MMF2. It's called Dungeon Dashers and is "co-operative online multiplayer turn-based dungeon crawling". I've finally got a gameplay video that I'd like to share with you all.

More information and a pre-purchase link can be found at: http://www.dungeondashers.com/

Thanks!

Oh man, opening doors and then seeing creatures reminds me so much of the old school board game Hero Quest. Good stuff.

It's looking fantastic, Andy. Best of success to you.

EDIT: the website mentions the levels will be hand-made...Are you looking for level designers at the moment?

I am planning to change the name of the game in the future, but gameplay wise it's a bit different. It is the "spiritual successor" to Dungeon Dash, hence the same name.

s-m-r - Yes the levels are handmade. I haven't considered external help for creating the levels yet, mainly because the level editor tool that I've developed is for my personal use and hence is really just a lot of shortcuts and not user-friendly at all. Do you have much level design experience?

I was thinking in terms of my vast experience in developing maps and campaign material for tabletop role-playing games, and how that could easily translate to creating maps for a game like this.

From what you've said, it doesn't seem like I'd be very helpful, in terms of coding the levels, but I'd be more useful in "sketching things out," plotting out encounters, writing flavor text and whatnot. In other words, I'm confident that I'd be able to plan out some levels for you but not putting them in-game. Technology has somewhat eluded me - I've not dedicated the time I'd need to adequately learn MMF2, for example - but planning out levels and designing encounters for RPGs is something with which I have considerable experience.

It's your call; if you think it would be worth your time for someone else to develop levels but leave you to code everything, then drop me a line. I'll send over some samples via e-mail or something.

s-m-r - Your experience actually sounds like exactly what I need! Dungeon Dashers is inspired by board games such as Descent and other table-top games. I'd be really interested in seeing some of your designs. I can't seem to find your email address, so please contact me via "andy {at} dungeondashers.com" and send over some of your examples.

Well, allow me to bust out my graph paper, and I'll have something for you to look at by the end of the week.
