Hello again,

I am using the inbuilt default MMF2 platform movement. (Because it works perfectly fine for what I am doing)

There is a problem however. If you are walking right but then hold left, you start walking left. But if you are walking left and hold right, nothing happens.

This is unconsistent and makes my game feel shitty. Is there a way around this?

I have made it so if you hold left and right together, the player stops. But I would like it so the player keeps walking in the original direction if possible.

Any ideas?

The problem is.. frankly... you're using the MMD2 platform movement. I'm sorry, but it's true. You're going to have more problems trying to fix the default platform movement to work the way you want it to, than you are just making your own platform engine. It's easy... really.

Yeah I've never really given creating a custom platform movement a proper effort.

I tried years ago, but found that moving the player 2 pixels every MMF loop was too slow, and moving 3 pixels was too fast.

I'm sure there are ways around this. I've always just modified the default movement and it has worked fine.

Check out my scrolling example I just posted and I fix the glitch I was talking about in this post.
