Is there any difference if the ini file has .ini in its name or not...

And if there is whats the difference? Cause i have noticed my notepad++ opens it differently, and since i had some problems with deleting groups in flash i though this may have some effect on it?

the extension of a file does not actually change the data in a file at all. It simply changes what default associations windows and other programs will have with it. So if you rename your .ini file to .sav, you can still open it in INI++ and there is no difference. People can still open your files by simply renaming them or forcibly entering them into a program as ini or text input.
