Created this in my free time at night. It's a concept piece which shows a rip between the two main universes in the novel; Earth (where Eidenshire is located) and Allendoane (aka, "the painted world") and shows both planets overlapping one another due to the idea of a parallel universe.
Also, the light on the dark side of Allendoane is a result of the plants in specific forests which emit bio-illuminance as a unique characteristic the plants have when hit by moonlight specifically.

I'd love to hear what you guys think and if you have any questions about it, I'd be happy to answer.

Only just noticed this...

The plant thing is an interesting concept that i don't think the picture fully explains - i wouldn't have guessed the plants were lighting up the dark side unless i'd read the explaination. Not sure if that's a problem or not! The purple light dividing the two sides all shines in one direction - i think it'd look better if the light source was more realistic, coming from the centre of the planet outwards.

Overall though, looks very pretty and some nice choice of colours. The title could do with standing out a little more - maybe the font is too narrow? More hue around it maybe? And the land mass is quite clearly Central/South America, though as you said it is supposed to be Earth so that's cool

Thank you! Incredibly feedback, I really appreciate that. I agree with you about the light source coming from the center of the planet outwards. I tried to fix that up in an updated version, but the result wasn't much better so I didn't bother publishing it. But I do see exactly what you meant. Thanks.

With the glowing of the plants, it actually wasn't intended to be a profound or noticeable part of the picture. I just threw it in there as a subject of fine attention to detail, since it is mentioned in the novel as being a trait of the plants. But I still very much appreciate the feedback over the that.

And I will defiantly consider what you said about the title in future works of mine, it's dually noted.

Thanks again, I love hearing what people can attribute to my work. I really appreciate it.

No worries bud. The glowing-plant thing, i think you should defo leave it in (if you were planning to take it out, probably not!) as anyone reading the novel will notice this and it'll be a discussion point for the readers. I imagine a class of school kids discussing the cover with their teacher, and that being one of the subjects that arises.

Well, that's what would have happened at my old school

Another fine point of contention for the title/font...The way the layout is set up right now, it emphasizes the word "pain" in Painters. Having the long serif on the letter "n" and that it's overlapping the edge of the planet; the letter "t" is somewhat blended into the planet itself...

...Eh, it's just something I noticed after having a longer look at it. Is this intentional, or could it be a further point of discussion?

Regardless of the title and my (admittedly minor) issues with it, the artwork is very well done.

Actually, the emphasize on the word "paint" in Painters was completely unintentional, but now that you mentioned it... I love it, it fits in well with a lot of attributes that "painting" will have on the storyline and I think with a little additional creativity, it would really work. Thank you.
