(Do not click it. It's really big and you will try to hit me.)
It's been a while since I updated the project and despite slowing down in progress, the ball is still rolling.
This isn't a console version, but hooking the TV up to my computer and seeing what the game looks like (the picture doesn't do it justice) gives me renewed interest to try to get this ambitious project released already. It's also giving me a lot more motivation to try and start investing more time in getting this thing released for XBLA and the Playstation Store. Both of which are planned for, in addition to an Android and iPhone version of the game.
I know theres not much to respond back to here, but I figured I'd open up a topic to hear peoples thoughts, perhaps maybe even words of inspiration. (Was that too, a tad ambitious to expect?)
Fortunately True Diamond was designed with something like this in mind, so it's resolution is around 1280x720 so it upscales about as well as a 720p movie would on the 1080p screen and maintains it's aspect ratio pretty well and thanks to hardware acceleration, the stretching is about as noticeable as, well, a 720p movie being upscaled to 1080p.
It's always fun to experiment with stuff like this. Gives me a really good idea on how it would look and as a result, gives me a lot of inspiration and ideas for making it better, polished, and overall hopefully more professional in the end.
i can tell you are a programmer by the mountain dew cans. haha i just love it. whats up with geeks and drinking MD- its so common and stereotypical and i fall into that category myself.
also what really makes me wonder: did you position the lense flare perfectly on the gem or isnt that from your camera but actually from the game?
also i dont know anything about true diamond so how does it play? got any in game videos or screenshots? if it would run on android and iphone i am curious now how it will play (unless you add those nasty buttons on the screen for touch devices)
also what are you coding this in? if its mmf how would you port it to ps network and xbl?
I'd like to actually see this in action, but I only have a 22" LCD monitor, and have no need for a large LCD tv since this monitor is awesome for both gaming and general use. I don't watch TV so it wouldn't be a smart buy for me =/.

What does MD have to do with it? IMO Mountain Dew is horrible. I drink bottled water and my house is LITTERED with empty bottles after just one day of drinking. Carbonated drinks are bad for you =p.
I think iphone would be a great place to take this game, although you'd prolly have to build it from scratch due to how much optimizing the iphone needs.
Yeah, I plan on remaking the game from scratch to port it to other consoles, including the iPhone and Android. Being that the game will have already been made, it will just me a matter of just looking and re-writing. Looking and re-writing. The longest part in getting it onto another system would just be getting the of another language down.
Hahaha, i know where you're coming from, SiLVERSIRE - it looks great on a big t.v.! I played R.P.G. Rocket Propelled Guts! a few weeks ago on my 40" Bravia with some mates, and we were on there for the best part of an hour. I loved seeing how great it looked on the big screen and the fact that it was built using a resolution similar to the t.v.'s (i forget exactly what it was) made it look all that more awesome!
Glad to hear True Diamond is still going - getting it on XBLA and Playstation Store will be great!
