Hi Guys + Girls!

Being new to the world of MMF2, (yes I have been on the moon!)
Can some1 please tell me a way to make a light effect around a lamp, street light etc that can then be turned on/off.

It don't have to be a simple way! I'm just looking for a good way!

maybe an example with/without extension?

Many Thanks in advance!!!

ps just like to say too - Love the site and the examples people have shown etc...

I think the easiest effect would be to use additive blending!

First, make a white/yellow to black radial gradient, like this:

(If you need help with that, check out GIMP and some tutorials! )

Put it in MMF2 as an active object and go to its properties window. Under "effect" in the first tab, select "additive blending".

And voila, a glowing light!

Here's a simple mouse-controlled example: http://jollycrouton.com/Uploads/light.zip

If you want more complicated methods, there are a few ways to do it. Simple semitransparency, for example. Or a system that will make everywhere but the light darker.

Greetings from Earth.

Croutons dipped in ranch dressing for this one.

Bacon ranch if available.
