I was under the impression that this was a global object. Am I missing something to be able to keep the cache when moving between frames?

That's a shame. Then there's no real advantage to using that over the "load frame" option.

It depends on what you're trying to do.

It's much better for external animation because it allows you to load multiple animations into the same object, and have each instance of the object to have a different one loaded at a time.

Active objects only allow one "animation" at a time, and all the instances are the same.

It's up to you.

I think for now I'm going to leave it as is, I've done too much already to go back. If I had more time I'd switch over, but either way, thanks a lot for the info.
