People should not read the rules so they won't get mean ideas how to destroy this site.

The only rule on the rule page should be "Use common sense. If you don't have it, kindly inform an admin so that he can ban you before you do anything stupid."

I don't use common sense to admit.
But really, I for example, got some bad ideas from these rules.

Luckily there was Gaia online who love to mock it's users.
Thanks God for all the Gaia Cash I lost.

Lol, TDC's rules are odd. They've been broken again and again and again. Not counting ban evasion accounts, I think there's only been 6 people who have been banned throughout TDC, and far more people who could stand the people who couldn't get banned. The irony is that if an admin puts a warning out to someone for breaking a rule, he's more likely to get flak over it than the one breaking the rule.

Also another funny thing is that most of the official warnings have been for swearing, but there's no rule against it. And I know at least 3 people who posted pornography or inappropriate links (remember the Custer's Revenge remake guy?), but never got an official warning. Instead the link was just taken down.

I like the "Use common sense" rule, but the rules lawyers would put up a fight over it

Long time no rule check?

"Users should not use offensive or profane language."

Oh, wait, I thought mistook the forum rules as the site rules. They're longer

Interestingly, ShadowCaster, who was like the big admin along with Rikus back then didn't really mind the use of profanity as long as it wasn't directed at someone else. Like, you could say "**** MMF!" but not "**** Clickteam!"

Speaking of Shadowcaster, what happened to that guy? Not that I want him back of course.

Shadowcaster was one of the first admins I met on the site followed by Circy. Kind of sad that it took me like a year to finally figure out that Rikus and Clubsoft were really the big guys around here. I think because Shadowcaster was one of the most active and Circy and I butted heads a lot.

He just disappeared one day didn't he? and has not even logged in since then . But If I recall someone got in touch with him a few years ago and basically life took up too much time to bother with TDC anymore.

I always thought that SC owned the site, seeing how he was the one who handled all the admin hiring and stuff. Rikus seemed like his partner, but I guess only Rikus knows the true story behind who was boss

He was really busy with uni last I checked. Lol, going to a similarly tough university to him, I can understand why he'd completely split off from TDC. The last message I got from him was about how he was interested in Freemason stuff.

The rules on web sites are generally to prevent issues relating to user discomfort. If you break a rule and are not banned or warned, chances are what you posted is not considered that way.
