I've been attempting to make a lobby system for my online game, and it now does pretty much what I wanted, but it's developed a very weird bug...

After one player starts a game, it's supposed to display a message until a second player joins.
I started out using a string object, but it didn't seem to display, so I switched to an active object - but that doesn't show up either!
There are no conditions causing the object to be created/destroyed or made (in)visible - it should just be there from the start of the frame. I haven't changed any of the properties, so "create at start" and "visible at start" are both ticked.
The only other object in the frame is the lacewing extension.

What's going on?!

That's odd. The string shows up fine over here! It could be your comp. I can't imagine what would cause this, but maybe you should run an anti-virus scan just in case.

Yeah Sketchy...it's you It shows up fine on my computer. The only reason I could think of is that you don't have the latest mmf2 build? You would have to get it at clickteam forums, since the automatic update doesn't work.

Ok, thanks guys.

I know what it is...
I must have accidentally opened it in the normal (non-HWA) version of MMF2 and then resaved it.
That means it won't work properly in the HWA version any more

The display mode was set to DX 9, and the active didn't show. If I set it to DX 8, it just crashes.
It's such a dumbass decision to not merge the standard and HWA builds into one version.

So, I now have to redo it almost from scratch
