Hi all, I'm currently making a game with a simular movement style of bubble bobble minus the bubble blowing and mr do, seeing I am very rusty with anything to do with custom movement due to not making anything near to a game since 2004 I need some help.

I'm writing this on my phone because my laptop I'm using is not on the internet due to it becoming very slow when connect.

So in other words, you're looking for a custom platform movement? I don't see how Mr Do fits into this either.

opps, Mr Do? I just realised my mistake. I'm so embarised now. lol Mr Do was like digdug or at least the first one was anyway.

The style of the controls would be moving left and right obviously at a pace of bub and bob like I said in my previous post and the jumping should be more like the style of megaman, say I tapped the button he would just a short distance but if I was to hold it this time the distance he jumps a far greater distance.

I'm going to try and make a start on it once I get some spare time but I'm wondering where to start off.

Do I start off with the gravity or do I start off with the left and right movement?

Thanks in advance
Leighton

Start off with gravity
Then make vertical collition/ player able to stand on 'obstacle' backdrops
Then do left and right movement
Alternetively do horizontal collition/ player able to colide with 'obstacle' backdrops like walls etc
Then do jumps

There is a really good tutorial for custom platform movements on Clickteam.com by DavidN. If you can connect to the internet try downloading it. Just modify the variables or change it until you get what you want.
