Hey everyone. I'm looking to buy a new mouse for gaming. I'll be playing FPS but it's also for general everyday use. I like mice with a nice middle scrollwheel and a comfy layout. At the moment I am looking at either a

At the moment I'm leaning towards the CM Storm Sentinal. Have you guys used either of these? Or is there another gaming mouse you would recommend? Thanks.

This is going to sound really lame... but I swear by my Logitech MX310. So much so that I actually bought a second one when my last one finally let go of it's last breath. It took years of major punishment and even after the laser broke, I was able to fix it. It wasn't until the middle mouse button finally gave about 5 or so years after, that I picked up a new one. Fortunantly they were still selling them at Newegg but it doesn't look like this particular page is live anymore.

If you're looking for a mouse packed full of features with a few dozen buttons, you can completely disregard this mouse. However if you're looking something with a very clean design and comfortable feel, I'd highly recommend trying to find one.
Has a back button on the left side and a forward button on the right, and one of the most important things I've found I needed to keep my eye out for with a new mouse is that the wheel actually has notches. I can't stand a mouse wheel without notches.

It's not really a "gamer" mouse per-say... but I honestly think that it does it's job better in-game than any "gamer" mouse I've ever used. One mans opinion, but hey... you asked for it.

I'm a massive fan of Razers stuff. My previous 3 mice have been from them (2x Habu, 1x Diamondback 3G). Razer had an article about the 3 main types of mice you can get;

the claw type - fingers on buttons, palm not on mouse. Symmetrical design. Good for twitch games.
Something else - fingers and palm on mouse. Asymmetrical design. Good for long sessions. Movement comes from the central/palm area of the mouse so its not as fast.
Something else 2 - A mix of the above

From them 2 I'd go for the Logitech on their brand alone. Razer and the higher end Logitech and Microsoft mice are brilliant in terms of quality and tech. Be careful about buying a good mouse though... Its hard to go back to a mouse that doesn't support laser optics, DPI switching, teflon pads and secret buttons .
