I know that if you want a string to show over an object you use an event which always sets X and Y positions of the text layer to (x,y). I needed it for a menu thing I was working on.

But... now when I try it in another frame (same app) it doesn't work. The active object and the string are set to only be visible under certain circumstances. Does the fact that they disappear and reappear affect the initial setup of the event? Because I've tried:
> Is String visible? Always -> Set X and Y positions of String
and that doesn't work either. If it is because of the disappearing thing, is there a way round this?

I don't get your X and Y thing, but this should do.

In the string's display properties -> uncheck "Display as background"
Then right click your string -> Order -> To front

Dont understand the x y thing? thanks for the help. I didn't think about it being displayed as background because i didn't have to uncheck that for the other frame
