Hello folks!

I'm looking for a 'true' light and shadow engine for mmf2. Right now, I'm already doing a light and shadow thing for more atmosphere by putting alpha images on top of stuff and I think it looks ok. But first, it's static and I would like the player to have a flashlight and bright the darker areas by him/herself, second, it's a pain in the ass to draw all shadow masks for every level by myself and third, all those alpha images drag the speed of the game down (slightly, but on slower machines it could get aweful).

So, is there any way to do a dynamic light and shadow in MMF2? Like I can put objects where light sources should be and other areas get drawn darker? I don't really need actual shadow casting of enemies and stuff, but that would be nice too

I've already found a light n shadow engine with an overlay extension, but that's not what I'm looking for.

What kind of lighting are you after? I would have suggested the overlay shadow technique, but you aren't after that? Are you looking for something shiny and glowy like the lighting in Tormishire?

Actually no, I don't want the game to shine. I was looking for a light method like in Diablo 2. The player is a light source and obstacles (and in this case Backdrops) throw shadows. The light doesn't really brighten things, but everything else is in the shadows.
