I'm sorry but it had to be made! Let's discuss SSB, which one's your favorite, stuff like that. People can talk about how brawl is awesome, or overated, or whatever. I'm sure someone will turn this into a war, but have fun. My favorite is probably brawl, but I've never played ssb for the 64. I like to use Ike or kirby on brawl becuase they have cheap moves.
You can log off any time you like, but you can't ever leave.
I played them all. You can do almsot nothing on the N64 version. It did have the best Zelda themed area tho.
Slight changes in Brawl from Melee but for me it makes almost no difference, so Brawl is my personal fave thus far. I like to use a variety of characters to keep the action fresh My main ones probably are Toon Link, Ganondorf, Marth and R.O.B.
Overall it's a great game, not my game of the year but still awesome. The last level of the Subspace Emissary really lets it down IMO.
Brawl's my fave. Melee was good and all but the pacing of Brawl is much better, so I'll probably not go back to Melee now. Even though it's missing one of my fave fighters (Pichu ).
Toon Link, Fox, Wario, Ike, Mario, Samus and Lucario are my faves in Brawl. Especially Toon Link! He's powerful but fast, kinda like Captain Falcon but with long range attacks. And Ike is not cheap! He's much too slow for that, you have to plan ahead with him.
Never played the N64 version! Nobody around here had it. IIRC it was hard to get hold of in the UK.
Definitely the best console game I've seen for such a long time.
Nintendo completely gimped the fighting engine for Brawl in order to appeal to casual gamers so that they wouldn't get their asses handed to them online by people that actually know how to play the game and use advanced techniques like wave-dashing, L-canceling, etc. The only advantage of Brawl is the online mode, which, while heralded as a giant leap forward for Nintendo, is still thoroughly half-assed even by half-decade-old standards. Seriously, am I being unreasonable for expecting rankings in a fighting game that the developer's know damn well is used in professional tournaments?
I'm glad they got rid of them glitches. I'd rather have a proper fight and not some glitchfest reminiscent of trying to play Mario Kart DS or early Counterstrike. I'm curious to why else you think it's gimped, since the slower pace allows for better strategy. I could hold my own in Melee too but looking back - it was a bit broken.
And why did they leave Jigglypuff in Brawl?! Even Ice Climbers were made competative this time around but Jigglypuff is still the lowest of lowest tiers.
Nope! That's the point in unlocking stuff; A nice reward for your hard work (btw you get Smash trophies for the Classic mode so then 10 times round aren't wasted ). Mewtwo was unlocked after 20 hours of play on Melee so it's not even a new concept.
That's the best part, in my opinion-- unlocking stuff. I own all three, it might be because my n64 controllers are old and worn out, but the first is not fast paced enough. You have to tap the joystick really hard to run, but like I said, it may be my old controllers. So far I think I like Melee a bit better, but it's probably only because that's the one I remember playing with my friend back when I actually had one. I'm sure if I had anyone to play Brawl with I'd like it better. I like the Links, Sonic, ROB, Meta Knight, Pit, and probably a few others.
I HATE service unavailable. Where's that GRR smilie...
