Could someone explain how I would go about using the Platform Movement Object to have the player run as default but when a key is held down, the movement speed is slightly reduced? And of course set the movement speed back to normal when the key is released.

Thanks for any help.

You could set a flag on and set the maximum X velocity. That's easy and simple.

I would start a new Group, and then set the group to be activated when the key is held in.

Then, within that group, make a formula, that adds or subtracts to the speed/velocity or whatever.

Lastly, when the key is not held in, deactivate the group.

I haven't tried it, but it should work ... TGF is a glitchy piece of software though, so who knows.

I loves it though cause i'm crazy.

Lemme know if that works.

If not, then I could fiddle around and look for an alternative if ya want.

o_O that's the same as the flag method.

Are you setting the velocity? Or adding to it? Because you'll need an "Only one action when event loops" condition if you're adding...

What do you mean same as the flag method ? .. wasn't it supposed to be ? <scratches head>

Ooooooh, you mean it still shoots off to the right ?

I'd have to look at your code then. Don't think that should happen.

He's saying it does the same thing as the flag method, just with more events.
