I don't think the object is for that, it's meant to apply an effect to the whole screen or a large area.

Mask it in the shape of the object.

Err...no one? I guess Ill be going over to construct then. It can change the 'color filter' of objects at runtime, which is awesome.

Why? It's already been explained it's possible, surely it doesn't take that long to figure out how?

Yes but Vince, it's now a trend.
"I can't figure out how to do this and that so I'll move to Construct."
I wonder if my graphical skills will improve if I move to Construct, or my coding skills.

I dont know if they will but you can always give it a try haha, i think you guys got the wrong idea but dude, there wasnt any reason to get offended. no offense was intended anyway.

The thing is I've been wanting to make a spritesheet / character generator for a while. That way if some standard platform sprite bases are decided, people could contribute to making 'items / clothing' for the bases. That way who have trouble with graphics, such as me, would benefit and the games would look less uglier. Character creation would be much easier. Perhaps, the characters would look similar but oh well. Anyway, this idea ts kinda pointless without HSL support. So I'm thinking of trying this in construct. Maybe it will work in that.
Oh, n I have already created a character generator called KCG in mmf but its disappeared off the net for some reason and off my harddrive as well. So if i have to start from scratch again, might as well do it in a program that supports RGB filters or HSL.

anyway, trend or not, you have to admit construct does look very promising. Moreover, to the best of my knowledge, liji's colorizer isnt made for active objects (whose animations change every second) but for large or small rectangular areas. Yes, it can also be applied to other shapes using masks but i doubt it will be effective for an active with tons of frames as animations. If I'm wrong, by all means correct me. You see, for as long as I can remember I've wanted mmf to have this 'feature' on it and now, even with mmf2 its kinda lacking in this department. Bloody rpgmaker 95 had the feature of changing hue tones of the screen and the characters. its been more than 12 yrs since then...surely, mmf could easily have the hsl features that were found in a limited gamemaker such as rpgmaker? sadly, not yet.
